Analyzing AI slop designs with basic heuristicshttps://www.adriankrebs.ch/blog/design-slop/
I am pro AI for code, anti-AI for most visual, reader-facing things. A senior engineer might feel the exact opposite; we naturally hate this thing more in the spheres we’re good at.
I’ve found AI-driven design to be more trouble than it’s worth. For the same generic look, sure it works but any of the various skills that attempt to guide this in an “elevated” direction have failed. You can recognise the same Claude Code “frontend-design” skill in every single website. Italic fonts, random micro-copy, individually animated elements, blah blah. Boring. I experiment with each of these things as they come out just to see what is up, but so far I’ve not felt like it has done much for me.
Anyway. This post is interesting because I wanted to analyze the number of vibe coded dashboards we’re seeing lately but couldn’t find a way to analyze or even collect that kind of data. This post is interesting because it uses basic heuristics to identify what might be a vibe-coded website, no LLM categorisation.
